Summer Vacation

oh how things change

It might be my age, it might be the weather, who knows, but I have been thinking a lot lately about what summer vacations used to be like. Those childhood summers were magical and without worry. The long days were filled with sunshine and friends with sleepovers and no school. Now, it doesn't seem to matter if it is 80° or -20°. I will be found in front of my computer working 8:30am until at least 5:30pm. It isn't a complaint because I get to sit by a window and still enjoy the sunshine, but there is a tinge of sadness that with age comes responsibility to "earn a living" and I can't just go out to play. With this new chapter, it is even more important that I spend time nurturing and growing my business meaning more hours in front of the computer..... BUT, this is fun. I get to plan vacations (that I would love to take) for other people, then I get the benefit of actually working my way to be able to travel full time and book other peoples vacation while I am on my own vacation. There is a famous quote by Marc Anthony, "Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." That is what I am doing. The more I do, the more I want to do. I finish a training, please give me another. I book a trip, please refer a friend so I can book one for them too. This is fun and exciting and so fulfilling. I am truly blessed and immensely grateful. I was so excited to be able to go with some of my family to visit Thomas the Train and watch as so many kids enjoyed their fun summer day. Pretty soon, I will be on summer vacation every day and I will never have to work another day doing a job that doesn't make me happy. I wish the same for all of you!

What was the best summer vacation you have ever had? Did you travel somewhere? Why was it so memorable? Let me know!!!
